Numerical Simulations

Our group contributes public software to the scientific community for computational fluid dynamics. Some of our codes are:

    * GHOST (Geophysical High Order Suite for Turbulence):  hybrid (MPI/OpenMP/CUDA), portable,  parallel,  scalable (> 40000 proc.). Solves the following 2D & 3D problems: HD, MHD, Hall-MHD, rotating flows, Bussinesq,         quasi-geostrophic, passive transport, considering various subgrid models (LES).

    * Compressible flows: parallel codes (MPI), support for reduced approximations (RMHD, RHMHD)  and Lagrangiana particle simulations.

    * Codes for flows in complex geometries such as: SPHERE (parallel code for HD and MHD flows in spheres). We also participate in GASPAR, a spectral element code being developed at NCAR (USA).

    * Visualization: We participate in the advisory committee of VAPOR, a visualization software for 3D flows at terabyte scales.
